William Lawrence was a very noteable man in Fitchburg. Wish I knew more about him. His fathers civil war sword has been donated to the smithsonian institute by my cousin. I have searched many years for a William H Lawrence. I knew he was related somehow but just didn't know how. Thanks to computers and the Worcester Home page I have found out all that information. William H Lawrence was born 1834, married a Sarah F Whorf. They had 2 children, Harry and William F Lawrence.William H was in the civil war and was aide de camp to General Hooker. He was then given the rank of General. William F Lawrence son of William F was a well know printer in Fitchburg for many years.William F was married to Hattie Monia Wright. Hatties father Alfred R Wright died in 1897. He was one of the oldest railroadmen in the city of Fitchburg. Anyone with more information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you .
