Abigail Adelia WARNER was born on 25 Aug 1825 in NY.⁽²⁷⁾ She died on 30 Sep 1880 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. ⁽²²⁾ The angel of death has again visited us and taken from our midst a worthy and estimable woman - Mrs. Joel Sprague, whose death occurred on Sept 30th. She was a victim of consumption, and had been in ill health for a long time. She was an affectionate and indulgent wife and mother and an amiable, devoted, neighbor, and her death will be sincerely mourned by her husband and three children who survive her. The funeral services were held on Saturday last, Rev. H. L. Everst officiating, and large numbers of neighbors and friends assembled to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed. Her age was 52 years. The bereaved relatives aare deeply sympathized with the entire community. She was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia, Genesee, NY.

She was married to Joel SPRAGUE (son of Solomon SPRAGUE and Mercy HOYT) on 6 Jun 1850 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. Joel SPRAGUE ⁽²⁷⁾ was born in 1827 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. He died on 12 Nov 1886 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. ⁽²²⁾ We again chronicle the death of another of our old neighbors and friends, Joel Sprague, which occurred at his home in Batavia on Friday last, aged 59 years. Mr. Sprague was born in this town, and lived with his mother for many years in this neighbohood. He was a great lover of horses. It was his delight to drive a fancy horse, and he made a business of buying and fitting horses for the New York market. After moving into town he lost his health and during the last years of his life he was an invalid. But during all these years his son, Alvin, to his praise be it spoken, stood by him, waited upon him, and administered to his wants by day and through nights. He was always ready without a murmur or complaint to comfort and console his affilicted father. Verily he will be rewarded, and may his days be long on the earth and full of blessedness. Mr. Sprague's funeral was attended on Sunday, Rev. C.A. Johnsons officiating. He leaves two sons and daughter to morn him. He was buried in Batavia, Genesee, NY.
