Knox's Artillery, in which commissioned 2nd Lt 11 Jun 1778. Feb 1779 command at Brookfield guarding military stores. Resigned soon after.

He was married to Susannah KILLAM in 1770.⁽²⁾ Susannah KILLAM was born in 1752.⁽²⁾ She died on 24 Nov 1841.⁽²⁾
